Brazil's Government launches new portfolio of infrastructure projects
As an effort to regain GDP's growth, Brazil's Federal Government included 55 concession projects, as well as 15 new state and county sanitation projects, in Projeto Crescer portfolio. The list includes port terminals, railways,highways electric transmission lines and sanitation companies with estimated investments higher than R$ 45 billion.
For the Railway Sector, the government will authorize an early renewal of five already granted railroads in exchange for new investments. The railroads are: the MRS network (which goes through Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo states), Carajás Railroad (Pará and Maranhão states), Vitória - Minas Railroad and FCA (Center-West and Southeast Brazil) and the network of ALL-Paulista. It will also include 35 lots of electric transmission lines. The auction will take place later this year.
There is also the BR-101 concession in Santa Catarina, and studies for new bids of three highways: Nova Dutra, CRT and Concer. A group of public port terminals is also on the list. There are extensions for existing contracts and concessions for new areas in Santana (PA), Itaqui (MA) and Paranaguá (PR) ports. There is also the prorrogation of contracts in the ports of Santos (SP), Vila do Conde (PA) and Niterói (RJ).
